Our full spectrum hemp extract carries the Otherside seal of approval, this means; it has been carefully sourced through a combination of research into the most reputable hemp farms worldwide and the use of our long reaching network built over the years as a pioneer of the industry

The Hemp is grown 100% organically in Oregon, USA and is non-GMO and pesticide free. It is processed using the cleanest and most up to date methods and is quality tested to assure superior standards by our in-house and by 3rd party lab teams.  Assuring only the purest and highest standard extract.

The CBD is extracted using a cryogenic ethanol extraction process followed by a combination of short path, wiped film and fractional distillation to produce our final high-quality distillate.

We then infuse our distillate in C8 MCT oil, which is extracted from sustainably sourced coconuts.

C8 MCT Oil

If you’re not already familiar, medium chain triglycerides, or MCT, are a form of saturated fatty acids extracted from coconuts or palm oil. As Cannabinoids are fat soluble using MCT oil allows for a relatively rapid release and better absorption.

One of the benefits of using C8 MCT oil is that the shorter carbon chain means it is more easily absorbed and transported throughout the body and can be used as an instant source of energy to fuel the brain.

This means you’ll reap the positive benefits of our CBD oil much faster.

Turmeric Essential Oil

Our next ingredient Turmeric is grown predominantly in South Asian countries and is known for its powerful anti-bacterial properties due to a substance called curcumin.

Curcumin is a known bactericidal, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory. It also contains stronger anti-oxidants than vitamin E. These are said to provide the skin with incredible benefits including increased skin radiance, reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and decreased pore size. It is also beneficial for acne prone skin. A strong relaxant and balancer, Turmeric is also effective for treatment of muscular pain.

Cinnamon Essential Oil

To partner Turmeric, we have chosen another spice from South East Asia, now mostly cultivated and produced in Sri Lanka. Cinnamon is known to contain some of the highest levels of antioxidants including polyphenols compared to any other spices.

Your body can use antioxidants like these to help fight potential harmful invaders, including cancer-causing free radicals. Lab studies have also found that cinnamon can reduce inflammation, helps to fight bacteria, improve circulation and has pain killing properties that may reduce the symptoms of rheumatism.

Premium Cannabis Derived Terpenes

Next, to maximise the medicinal potential of these individual compounds we add terpenes derived from the cannabis plant. This encourages what scientists refer to as the ‚Äúentourage effect‚ÄĚ which magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the plant‚Äôs individual components‚ÄĒso that the medicinal impact of the finished product is greater than the sum of its parts.

We analysed the terpene profile of our premium oil and the full terpene profile can be seen here. Below is more information about the terpenes that were found.

Delta 3 Carene

Delta 3 Carene is a cannabis terpene carrying a sweet and earthy aroma with piney undertones and is widely considered a natural antihistamine.

Often referred to as the bone-repairing terpene due to properties that boost bone healing for a quicker recovery. Delta 3 Carene is known to have very potent medical qualities and it can be an effective contributor towards combating fibromyalgia, arthritis and osteoporosis, in addition to possibly promoting memory retention and mental sharpness.

This terpene holds an important role in the overall medicinal potential of cannabis and makes it well worth seeking out during strain selection.

Nerolidol is a useful terpene found in several strains of cannabis. It has a distinctive woody aroma but besides contributing to the scent profile it has multiple therapeutic uses.

Therapeutic Uses of Nerolidol
  • Nerolidol makes bacteria more susceptible to antibiotics.
  • It is a natural sleep aid
  • It has potential as an antifungal agent.
  • It can help kill parasites.
  • Nerolidol is a natural defence against spider mites.
  • Fights head lice by preventing the eggs from hatching.
  • Nerolidol soothes anxiety in mice.
  • It may be an effective tool for treating malaria.

Despite these powerful qualities, humans can safely ingest it.

The third and final terpene humulene has a subtle earthy and woody note that gives beers their distinct hoppy taste and is also partly responsible for giving cannabis its unique scent. Both hops and cannabis share this common terpene.

But there’s more to humulene than its herbaceous charm. This terpene is found in a wide variety of plants and has been used for centuries in holistic Eastern medicinal practices.

It has proven it to be an effective anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant. It is also an effective analgesic when taken topically or orally.

The medical and therapeutic potential of humulene is expansive and well-researched. A 2016 study shows that it may help terminate cancer cells when combined with phytocannabinoids and other terpenes.

It is also present in many therapeutic-grade essential oils and the use of such oils for healing purposes dates back centuries. The terpene is found in Balsam fir oil and is believed to be an active mechanism in fighting tumours, evidenced by its ability to produce Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). It has also been known to play a role in combatting a host of nasty infections and diseases.
